This design series continues its exploration of festive communication through a Men's Mental Health Month card design. The initiative aims to raise awareness of men's mental health during the month. It draws attention to the fact that men are statistically more likely to die by suicide in many countries, making it a critical public health issue. The month directly addresses barriers men face in society, whether they're societal expectations or gender norms.
The project captures the essence of the month through Bauhaus-influenced posters and semicolons that double as powerful symbols for suicide prevention and mental health—representing a pause rather than an end. They suggest choosing to continue one's story. This combination enables direct communication with the audience through a clean aesthetic. Messages are kept short and easy to read, allowing for impactful delivery. The animated version features multiple semicolons in different fonts and visual effects, representing individual men's experiences with various mental health issues.
This project highlights the importance of recognising symptoms early and seeking timely assistance to prevent mental health issues from escalating, as untreated challenges can lead to severe consequences.
This project features digital illustrations in various shades of green and off-white. The moving images are animated using Adobe After Effects.
