Hope Springs Eternal

This series continues its exploration of festive communication through an Easter celebration card design. The initiative aims to celebrate Easter in 2025—a unique year where it coincides with another global phenomenon: the celebration of cannabis. Though cannabis remains illegal in many countries, its social acceptance has grown as nations revise their stance on its usage.

The project captures the essence of both Easter and cannabis through rebellious techniques like graffiti and subtle cannabis elements with a stereotypical hippie aesthetic, while remaining mindful of Easter's religious significance. The design incorporates rebellious yet positive and motivational quotes from literature and movies to complement the visuals.

This project challenges public perception of cannabis consumption, embracing and exploring this near-taboo topic while celebrating Easter on the same day.

Using the same paper stock as previous cards maintains series consistency. This project features illustrations in pink, baby blue, red, and silver acrylic markers, drawn on Potentate 300 gsm corrugated hot press watercolour paper. The digital component is animated using Adobe After Effects.
