Grüße vom Oktoberfest

This series of animated digital collectibles re-contextualises the historic Oktoberfest festival for a contemporary audience. Each piece is conceptualised as a ticket design to harmonise with the series, focusing on the unique identity and heritage of the festival's legendary beer tents.

The core of the design is a multi-layered digital collage that creates a dialogue between historical archives and modern festival culture. Each composition is anchored by a monochrome engraving or classical artwork, reflecting the specific heritage of an individual tent. This historical foundation is juxtaposed with vibrant, appliqué-style illustrations of iconic Oktoberfest motifs. The typographic treatment utilises period-appropriate blackletter fonts, while the frame incorporates the tent’s name, its address on the Theresienwiese, and an homage to the festival's 1810 origin, creating a piece rich with researched detail.

Dynamism is introduced through motion graphics executed in Adobe After Effects. A key visual motif is a hyper-realistic beer foam that animates and overflows the borders of the stamp. This element is designed to add a tactile, immersive quality to the digital format and reinforce the project's central theme.

The project is a comprehensive study of a global cultural phenomenon, from its origins to its modern-day identity. All assets were designed and composited using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, ensuring a consistent and historically-inspired visual language across the entire series.
