Synopsis
This collaborative project examines the grid system through physical and digital exhibits, drawing inspiration from David Hockney's polaroid work to explore distortion and perspective.
This collaborative project explores the social study of the grid system through both physical and digital exhibits, showcasing its 2D & 3D forms and everything in between. The project aims to stretch boundaries and challenge the grid system. It draws inspiration from David Hackney's polaroid work, "Still Life Blue Guitar" and "Sun On The Pool Los Angeles," exploring how typology, distortion and varied perspectives can break the grid.
The project is displayed both digitally via Instagram and physically as an installation. It includes an Instagram account that serves as an archive of diverse distorted forms inspired by the grid system, captured through scans and photography. Additionally, the installation features a collection of transparent acrylic cubes, laser cut and covered in screen-printed black and white ink sentences. These sentences query the existence of the grid system in various languages.
